A/N: Written for knitekat's Valentine's Day Gift Box 2022 on primeval_denial. The prompts I used were 1) Whatever you were going to say, the answer is 'no'. and 2) Half the names on the list had already been crossed off.

Also, pup!verse is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. So I thought it would be fun to send their world into upheaval again ;-)

This follows on from What To Expect. However, the storyline started with Unexpected Circumstances.

“There's no way you're going on field trips until you've squeezed those pups out, boss.” Ditzy gave Becker a no-nonsense look.

Becker opened his mouth to reply but Ditzy held up a hand and continued, “Whatever you were going to say, the answer is 'no'!”

“Okay,” Becker agreed.

“Okay?” Ditzy narrowed his eyes in suspicion. “You're not going to fight me on this?”

“No.” Becker smiled at him happily and rested one hand on his still mostly flat belly.

The annual Christmas ball at the Minister’s country estate was one of the few occasions that made Ryan question his decision to request a permanent deployment to the ARC. This year more than ever.
