Becker felt the claws smashing into his inner thigh. An instant wave of pain washed through him as he landed on the ground hard, the raptor toppling over him and hitting the floor a couple of inches behind him. He heard screams and gunshots but all he could think of was the flaring pain in his leg. 

He was bleeding out. He could feel it. With every heartbeat blood was flooding out of his limb. He closed his eyes, trying to fight the overwhelming pain. “Hold on, Becker, fucking hold on!“, he heard Connor’s urging voice, now kneeling beside him and holding his upper body in a tight embrace, fists clenched onto his Kevlar vest. Good, Connor was okay. Another flash of pain as someone applied pressure on his wound made him grunt. He opened his eyes with an effort as if defying gravity itself and saw Connor’s face, full of angst and begging him to stay with him. Connor’s beautiful face. With an almost superhuman effort he lifted his hand and let it rest on Connor’s. He was bleeding out for him.
