Abby walked through the menagerie with tight lips. She had a full house. Each and every one of the ARC’s pens had one or more creatures in it. No matter how privileged she felt about being one of the few people actually being able to see and touch them, this was horrible.

They were away from their own time, many of them the only of their kind in this world. They might be able to return a few of the animals, but most would die lonely and locked away from daylight deep down in the ARC. She hated that thought.
