Connor tied his bright red scarf, then put on the matching gloves. He couldn’t believe it. Today was his first date with Captain Tom Ryan.

Tom was the perfect man – kind, caring, strong, funny and smart. Connor could hardly believe it. Why would such a man date him?

Suddenly his father’s words echoed in his ears, telling him that it’s just a prank, that nobody would ever want to be with him, how he wasn’t a real man but only a disappointment to his family.

Connor pushed those thoughts away. His father had no right to ruin this for him.
