Summary: Becker looks after Lester.
A/N: This fic was inspired by the line “They are living in their own time” during a talk on dementia at a conference I attended. I wrote this in memory of my grandma. I hope she is fine where she is now.

Becker looked at his image in the bathroom mirror after styling his hair. There was an increasing proportion of grey, and the lines around his eyes and on his forehead were getting deeper. But what was he expecting? The big 5-0 was looming and he’d never exactly had a quiet life. All things considered, he could be quite happy with his looks at his age, he decided. He washed the rest of the gel off his hands and left the bathroom in the direction of the kitchen. Lester was still sitting at the table. He’d only taken a few bites from his toast and the cup of coffee was almost full.
“Why don’t you eat a little bit more, love? And drink your coffee, I made it just the way you like it,” Becker said and brushed his hand softly through Lester’s thin hair.
His words startled Lester out of his thoughts and, rather surprised, he looked down at his plate. He lifted up the piece of toast and took a bite.
