Even after an hour, Helen had trouble accepting what she was seeing. A completely new time. Well, very much a past time, but new to her, new to mankind.

She turned towards the sparkling gateway. She was going to enjoy proving to Nick and the other scientists that she’d been right. The fame and power it would bring her! 

Then she stopped. She couldn’t do that, couldn’t share it. This was her chance to learn. Not guess, but know. And change. Yes, she could adjust the world just how she saw fit. A new life, a new world. Her world.
