Also, pup!verse is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. So I thought it would be fun to send their world into upheaval again ;-) However, this is not connected to the rest of the gift box fics set in this AU.

Becker and Ryan sat on the couch and stared at the telly unseeingly. Their hands were clasped tight together, their hold on one another almost painful.

Becker's gaze darted to the clock on the wall. Quarter to ten. Still fifteen minutes until curfew. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He felt Ryan squeeze his hand to relax him.

„It's going to be okay, Beck. They're good kids. They won't do anything stupid.“

„Yes!“ Becker exclaimed. „Exactly. They're still kids. We never should have agreed to this. They're way too young to start dating!“

Ryan chuckled. „We can't keep him locked away, Beck. I know you just worry for him but if we lock him in he'll just rebel harder.“

„You're right, I know.“ Becker leaned forward and stared at his hands. „It's just that Alex and Kay don't show any interest in dating at all. And Marcus, of all of them, has to be the one starting a relationship at barely sixteen. I know times have changed but it's still not easy for omegas out there. What if he settles down too early? Or forgets that he's a smart guy for once and does something stupid? He could ruin his whole life!“

„Whoa, whoa, let's slow down a bit, Beck.“ Ryan shuffled them around so that Becker ended up pressed against his broad comforting chest, Ryan's chin resting on his head. „Marcus is a good kid, he's smart. And he has the best role model at home every day. He's not going to put out on his very first date. And it's not like we don't know Liam. He's a responsible young alpha. He would never get Marcus in trouble. Those two going out together has been a long time coming.“

„I know,“ Becker's voice was muffled from being pressed against Ryan's shirt. He rubbed his face against the muscular chest to catch more of his alpha's calming scent. Then he sat up. „I still don't like it. We should have imposed a strict no-dating rule until they leave uni.“

Ryan chuckled at the sight of his pouting omega. How Becker, a muscular strong soldier omega in his forties could still look this kind of adorable was beyond him. But then Becker had always defied the rules.

„This is not funny!“ Becker's pout moved into a scowl.

Ryan nudged his shoulder. „Come on, it is. Just a little bit.“ He put on a smile that he hoped projected calm and trust, although inside he was just as anxious as Becker. His mate was right – their children were still so young and you didn't always make smart decisions when at that age. But Becker didn't need to know about him worrying, too. „Don't worry, Beck. It's Valentine's Day. They went to their favourite pizza place and saw a movie. Marcus will be home in a few minutes and he'll gush about how great Liam is. It's not that different from any other weekend in the last three years.“

„That's what you say. It's a date. It is different. Just remember how excited Marcus was.“

They heard the key turn in the lock and jumped to their feet simultaneously, their wide eyes meeting in an anxious gaze.

Kay and Alex entered the room in a flurry of movement and their girl immediately stepped up to hug them hello.

„Hey, a-dad, hey, o-dad,“ She smacked a kiss on a cheek each. „You still watching that old stuff?“ She gestured to the TV screen where the first action flick Ryan and Becker had seen in the cinema as a couple was playing. „The special effects in this are horrible!“

„Yeah,“ Alex piped up. „Whereas the film we saw with our friends tonight was awesome! I think they crashed over forty cars just for that one chase scene! I can't wait to get my driving license!“

„Talk like that and you'll have to wait a long time for that, pal,“ Ryan grinned and ruffled his son's hair.

Predictably, Alex ducked away, feeling way too old and grown-up for parental cuddles.

„Stoooop it, dad, not cool! You're ruining my hair,” he mewled.

Ryan laughed. Alex was just like Becker with regards to his hair.

„Go to bed, you scamps,“ Becker smiled indulgently. „It's a school night.“

„Okay, dad,“ Kay leaned in for another round of kisses and grabbed Alex's hand to lead him out of the room. „Good night!“

„Night!“ Ryan and Becker echoed. They looked at each other and let out a quiet sigh.

They sat down again. Two to ten. What if Marcus and Liam had forgotten the time after all?

But again they heard the lock turn and jumped up, this time rushing to the front door together just in time to hear Marcus' soft murmur.

„Thank you, Liam. I had a great time.“ He smiled shyly at the young alpha.

Liam turned bright pink. „Yeah? That's good. Me too! I mean, I had a great time, too!“ He visibly gathered up all his courage. „Can I give you a kiss on the cheek?“

Now Marcus blushed, too, and looked down on his feet. „Yes, that would be lovely.“

Liam stepped forward and took Marcus' hands. Then he leaned forward and placed a soft, innocent kiss on Marcus' cheek. It was just a moment, then he leaned back and smiled at Marcus like he hung the moon, still holding his hands.

Ryan chose this moment to clear his throat. The two teenagers jumped apart and blushed even more fervently if that was even possible.

„Hey boys, how was it?“ he asked pleasantly, trying to break the tension.

„Oh! Captain Ryan! Captain Becker! We had a great night, didn't we?“

Ryan smiled at the young alpha who was straightening up and hastily trying to brush out the wrinkles in his shirt, desperately trying to make a good appearance.

As if they would have let Marcus go out with him if they didn't know he was a good boy!

„Yes, it was great,“ Marcus agreed softly. „See you in school tomorrow?“ He turned to Liam again.

„Yes! Yes, of course.“ Liam quickly assured. „I'll keep your usual seat free.“ He smiled shyly again.

„Okay,“ Marcus smiled back. „Thanks! Good night then.“ This time he leaned forward and placed a sweet kiss on the young alpha's cheek.

„Good night, Marcus!“ Liam smiled brightly. „Good night, Captain R, Captain B! It was good to see you.“ He squeezed Marcus' hand one more time and then reluctantly turned and left.

Marcus stared after him for a moment and then closed the door and sacked against it. He sighed dreamily.

„So, good night then, huh?“ Ryan chuckled.

„Yes, it was perfect,“ Marcus blushed again. „Uhm, I think, uh, I'll go to bed now! Good night, dad, papa.“

He rushed up the stairs before they could call good night back, and a moment later they heard his bedroom door close. More footsteps and knocking followed when his siblings rushed to his room to pepper Marcus with questions about his date.

Ryan and Becker shared a look. A moment later Kay squealed loudly, followed by insistent shushing.

Becker grabbed Ryan's hand and walked them back to the living room, all the while muttering „We're going to be grandparents way too soon.“

Ryan laughed.
