They were too good. Too intelligent, skilled, motivated, successful. And now, Lester had to fight off the sharks of MI5.

As soon as they’d realized that the anomaly project was staffed with people who had the drive and ability to excel, they’d tried to steal half his team away. Jess for her programming skills, Connor for his breakthrough inventions, Becker for anti-terror missions on English soil. 

It was a good thing Lester had enough pull to stop it. Because when he’d discussed it with them, and the career opportunities a transfer might hold, they’d preferred to stay with the ARC.
